I have this card: Nvidia 650 Ti Boost 2GB on a Windows 7 machine.

I'm currently using a standard PnP Dell monitor connected to the VGA slot.

Now I'm trying to also connect my 55" Panasonic HDTV via the HDMI slot with a vanilla HDMI to HDMI connection.

How I troubleshot so far:
1. is it the cable?
No. I connected my PS3 to the TV with this cable and it works fine

2. is it the driver?
No. I downloaded the latest driver and rebooted the machine twice to make sure.

3. is it a misconfiguration?
I don't know. I'm opening the nVidia control panel with right-click to see if I have any display options. All I see is my PnP Dell monitor. I looked around computer management console as well to see if I can manage hardware via windows somewhere but found nothing.

Can someone tell me what I'm supposed to do? All I want is to mirror the monitor to the TV.

You have two issues going on:

1) Can't find HDTV in settings.
2) MIRROR won't work anyway.

The HDTV setup is not done the same way as a monitor. It's in the HDTV section. It is setup something like this:

1) 1080pNTSC@60Hz, then
2) adjust Overscan

I forget the exact path as it doesn't show up unless your HDTV is properly connected and on.

You need to first focus on just getting the HDTV detected and working, then worry about the rest, but I don't think MIRROR is an option with different screens.

You can have the HDTV setup as an EXTENDED screen then launch programs and game into it, or simply disable the monitor screen and leave the HDTV as the only screen while gaming.

Thanks. That's my problem: the TV is on and connected with a cable that works, but the driver is not seeing it. So I don't have any HDTV related settings available.

Is it supposed to see it after booting?

The HDTV section should be in your NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL, either as part of the "Display" section or below it on its own. I did hook an HDTV once and it showed up, but otherwise it doesn't appear.

You could try booting up while it's attached, then reinsert the HDMI cable if it doesn't show up, but if you don't see the HDTV section it won't work. I'm not sure why that would happen though.
