just got a v300 120gb ssd in my MacBook pro 2012 running win 8.1 and still kinda slow maybe im doing something wrong trim is on what eles that did't help

It's defaulting to SATA1 speeds for some reason but you'd have to contact the SSD manufacturer. Probably has something to do with Windows 8 not having the proper drivers for the MacBook hardware.

150MB/second is pretty fast so if things feel slow there may be something else going on besides the SSD. I'm just not familiar with putting W8 on a MacBook and what that means for driver support.

all drivers r updated from boot camp and I tried it in osx 10.9 and its the same speeds

150MB's is fast but not what I paid for and my old 750GB HDD did 112MB's so where the win

ill be here all day off work lol

The win is in the near zero access time and the 'much quicker than a HDD' random file speeds. Unless your do something heavy using sequential file transfers then those speeds are only 'eye candy' to lure you in.

No, benchmarking is real enough, its just advertising like to tout the best and make it seem important when in truth most users don't often transfer large sequential files to make use of those top speeds.

If you think about it, if everything could transfer at top speeds - even at 150MB/s windows would load in what? 1/25 of a second.
