I have a maximus VI formula and im thinking of water cooling my motherboard , but i heard that the waterblock on the MOBO is nickel and my waterblock on my Loop is Copper and its bad to mix them, should I?

It not that bad, everyone using nikel plated block generally mixing metal since the radiator is brass/copper......

the key is keeping the coolant/water clean (regular clean & change the liquid) and if needed add corrosion inhibitor for fighting the bad effect mixing metal..
or like me (newbiee) just buy premix coolant by the cooling companies..
they pricy, and doesn't have better cooling properties than pure water, but they easy to use and came premixed with anti corrosion & biocide...

edit: (added info) quoted from koolance, the one need to be avoided...
"do not use aluminum with bare (unplated) copper or bare (unplated) brass in the same system. Do not use silver with nickel in the same system."

U still can use distilled water with adding a biocide & corrosion inhibitor ....

since the distilled will became contaminated and the additive lose its properties over times, regular changing the water and cleaning helps to prevent problems.. (before the coolant/water lost it's properties [and causing a problems], u already change water/coolant with new one)

Using premix coolant is same as using distilled water, u still need to regular cleans & change the coolant, but u got away with longer time interval..

Regular draining cleaning change the coolant/water is the key..

some said once a month some said twice/thrice a year... (when distilled water is used as coolant)
I don't know what the best, it may depends on the condition/the loop, but more often are better........

Beside biocide they often use a bit of anti freeze that has concision inhibitor in it...
for what best brand or mix ratio. U need go to water cooling forum for more detailed info,
I'm cannot provide more since I'm new in WC myself... (inexperienced)
