I would really like to get into computer gaming but don't know where to start. i would like to build a computer but to be honest it scares me because i have no clue what i am doing and really don't want to mess it up. If anyone has any advice on how to build a gaming computer and what i should get for between 600-700 dollars that would be great or some good pre-built ones as an alternative.

if you want, you could spend a bit more and get a GTX 770, which is a great card..

a website like PCpartpicker can help a lot. you start with the CPU choice and it will only let you choose compatible parts with each part you choose. then before you make any purchases you post it here for us to recommend changes etc.

i prefer windows 7, it has support for basically everything at the moment.., but that is just a personal preference you could go with windows 8 as well..

Would that add much to the price? Also how much more is that 770 graphics card you were talking about?

Windows costs usually between $80-$100. The gtx770 is about 315 dollars for the cheapest one.

yeah windows is like 80+$.. :/ and the card is like close to 100$ more..

Few issues here. The HDD is SLOW. Get a 7200 RPM drive. Secondly, the CX line form corsair is more for business use and not for heavy loads. Change it to a difference Corsair unit or an Antec, XFX, Seasonic

I thought i did grab a 7200 drive, im exhausted and am fucking up a lot haha, sorry about that.. and a corsair 600w can handle that build fine, just trying to save a bit of money :p

My first build was blown up by a cx600. They are made with inferior capacitors that fail easily. They're e fine for business computers but for a gamer, get a more reliable and higher quality unit. The XFX 550w unit is MUCH better and usually costs the same before rebates.

yeah, quality is much more important than # of watts, i didnt know that the cx series were low quality, i heard good things about the 430... were they manufactured in different places?

Thank for all you both have done. I just have one more question. I plan to do more research in it but i just want to know if building a PC is difficult to do? like i said before it truly scares me because i don't want to mess it up and ruin it all.

its fairly simple, just watch some tutorials and make sure you know what your doing before going in blindly, and make surre to discharge all static before touching components! and hf with your build

That build i put up is to expensive i think my friend found it when parts were cheaper or something. i know i have already asked a lot but could you possible get a build that includes the OS still for under or close to $700 it again would be very helpful
I understand if you dont want to
