Of the two graphics cards, which one is better suited for 1080p gaming? And which will give more boost if a second card is added in xFire/SLI mode as the case may be.

Solution
As for adding a second card you will get less issues with Nvidia SLI, than with AMD Crossfire.

If you can hold off the purchase till Mantle performance gets unveiled, maybe then it will be easier to decide. Because right now I'm not counting on unreleased tech to claim any AMD card is better.

They are both quite adequate for 1080p. The 760 is a LITTLE bit better overall. Games that will use 'Mantle' will work better with the 270x in the coming days. Both are capable of SLI/CrossfireX.

they are both suited great for 1080, but the 760 is at the moment, slightly faster across the board
the nvidia side also tends to have better dual card support.

this is not to say the 270x is a bad card, but since the 760 is also more expensive, it makes sense that it is faster.

The mantle discussion in my personal opinion should not be a point to consider in buying a card anymore since amd has been so damn shady about the whole thing.

What about performance boost on addition of second card. I am from India and the 760 is priced at Rs. 21000 and the R9-270 at Rs 18500. Is the Nvidia worth the price difference? (1USD= 60Rs)

The price difference really falls upon if you think it is worth it. The 760 is about 5-10% better in a lot of games, and the 270x is better in some games. Personally I would get the 270x since mantle will be somewhat of a big deal once it gains adaptation.

Eh, the performance is noticable, but it's really up to you. do you want to pay the extra money for a little more performance?

if not, then go with the 270x and end this thread, otherwise it will just go on and on and you are going to go with the more expensive one anyways.

yeah, if amd FINALLY releases mantle this month, then look up what the performance gains are for the 270x, realise that these games will ONLY be in mantle supported games, then make your decision between the slightly faster without mantle 760, or the mantle boosted 270x (only in specific games)

That's fair. But when you think about it, they both have the same price/performance ration anyways. The 760 is a bit better, but also a bit more expensive. At that point it's just about budget.
