So I recently bought a Sapphire HD7870 GHz OC to replace my 9800gt and I was surprised when I actually got only mildly better if not worse FPS than my 9800gt on the same settings (med with a few things on high, no AA) I overclocked my Q6600 to 3ghz before getting the new card. I've been told that its most likely CPU bound, so I was wondering if I could have some other opinions? and if this is the case could somebody recommend a CPU/ram/mobo combo that will not bottleneck my gpu? I have about a $250NZD budget and I can go too 300 but I would prefer not to so I can have a bit for shipping.

It seems to work fine on other games on high or max although I imagine the fps is lower than it could be, I also have the latest drivers if that matters.

System specs:

CPU: C2Q Q6600 @ 3Ghz
RAM: 4Gb ddr2 800mhz
MoBo: Gigabyte EP31-DS3L
PSU: Corsair CX-600

Solution
I have seen other posts on these forums complaining of terrible performance in this game even with the latest model AMD CPUs compared to Intel.
It seems the game is very CPU dependent and does not make good use of the many cores available on these CPUs.
Ideally I would suggest an Intel core i5 processor, but this is out of your price range.
The Intel core i3 should be just as good for World of Tanks, but not as good for some other games.

Your current CPU scores a CPU Mark score of 2973

small ram , small cpu etc need total upgrade , also take a look on the follow link u will undertand alot.
http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/381458-ultimate-world-of-tanks-90-benchmarking-thread/#topmost

the game is online with 30 players on big maps and with bad graphic machine from wg part!!!
my personal advise is that wot needs every 2-3 years a new hi end graphic card (gtx 770) to hold the med avg fps from 95-85 (first year) to 65-55 (third year ) and with hi performance settings.
also wot supports only nvidia!!!!! check the official forums
needing of top every 3 years gpu meens also upgrade alot others thinks on pc!!!
also rember that wot is a single core game !!!!
by my opinion an avg acceptible level on wot is 65-85 ping and 45 + minimum fps (not for prof gaming , but just pust some mements in game!!!!)
