Graphics card overheats and gets 100% usage after 2 minutes of leaving PC idle

Now this is a weird problem right there. I guess it started happening in the last few days.

So, basically what happens is... If I leave my PC idle, like if I don't move the mouse for 2 minutes, the graphics card overheats for no reason. I re-checked this because it literally made no sense but unfortunately this is the case.

I have MSI Afterburner installed, and thanks to this program I can see the GPU temp, GPU usage, the fan speed etc. Now, I took a screenshot of these measurements and I monitored them closely to see what happens. I was really surprised by the results.

The interval is 1000ms (1 second). Notice how everything is fine for about 2 minutes after I don't move the mouse. Then, out of a sudden, the GPU temp rises each second, and whats more important, the GPU usage goes from 0% to 100% in just ONE SECOND. Then I just left it like that to see what happens. The temp kept rising, so I just moved the mouse and the usage fell to 0% and the temps started dropping...

Do you have any clue what this could be? I've heard it could be a bitcoin miner, but I don't have such thing installed. I've scanned my PC with Malwarebytes and AVG anti virus (showed no viruses or malware whatsoever), I've also cleaned the registry errors with CCleaner. Nothing helped. According to the info on the pic, this looks like a software related problem to me. Thoughts?

Hey, what is Your GPU? Have You tried to check scheduled tasks? They can have trigger "On Idle" and then something can be launched, also please check CPU activity, and post.

For GPU activity please use GPU-Z, lot of additional info there. Also it is always bet to give full set-up details.

There is nothing unusual there. Just my cleaner, some adobe updater and that's about it. Still haven't find a solution to this weird problem. The thing is, the card does not over heat while gaming (BF4 for example) but chooses to overheat while idle (after I don't move the mouse for like 2 minutes). This probably means that it is a software issue rather than hardware.

Any other thoughts?

Hey i have the exact same issue and its driving me nuts, i even changed my GFX card from a EVGA 780GTX to a Gigabyte 780GTX TI (with fresh windows install all good, but 1 month later "about now", the same things happens with this card too. GPU max speed when idle... i touch the mouse and all is good.

I think its malware from a "cracked" game unfortunately :( but i dont know wich hehe. But i have change the drivers multiple times on both systems + ect and the error is exactly the same. i cant even watch a movie :/

Tell me if you find some sollution!
