Also this is a custom build I presume? Do you have extra RAM lying around try swiping out your ram sticks or making sure they are in the right slots. or just try removing one stick and see if that helps. Always power down your computer when doing this by the way.
Yes this is a custom build, I don't have any extra RAM, but I did put some 4gb new in not long ago, this was removed from my old mobo as it was giving blue screen but works on my new mobo, could this be the cause? I have 8gb if you didn't know.
Hold on are you using two mismatched sticks of RAM? if so that is your issue and you need to get new RAM ASAP.
Buy kits not two separate sticks. They sell RAM in kits for a reason, because they optimize that RAM to work in sync with one another and getting two separate RAM sticks to play well with eachother is HARD and getting two RAM sticks to work together from two different Vendors is nearly impossible.
you can buy different ram and use them together, as long as they have the same frequency, latency and volt.
Today motherboard also adjust them, so you can use them even so they dont match the criteria.
I used to be like that as you explained.
