I have settled on this PSU for my machine but I find it next to impossible to buy one in Europe. All the sites I have checked from numerous countries either have the older diacontinued model or they incorrectly state that it has 4x6+2pin pcie slots even thought it's the xp2 model. If someone could point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful.

Solution

Get the AX860 or AX860i. Whichever one is available. They both have equivalent quality and the same warranty length.

That's one of the sites I've used and searched all the e-stores it listed. Most of them other than 2 have the older model listen when you look on specifications/technical details. The remaining two don't give that many options. The only one I found is this one http://electronis.de/index.php?page=article&ID=123391 but I can't seem to fing a contact button to make sure it's the model I want before proceeding to a payment.

In my country's eshops the only available ones are SS-760XP2 and the Corsair AX860 both i and non-i version. Which I was thinking.
Since I can't seem to be able to find a decent e-store with the 860Watt SeaSonic would you reccomend one of the others for an i7-3930k / Asus P9X79 DELUXE / 16GB RipJaws Z / 4x 4tb WD Black / 2 x Samsung 840 Pro / MSI GTX 660Ti/OC Power Edition. Atm I have the memory and processor working at stock speeds but I'll try and push it again in the future.

The picture in your link shows the discontinued Platinum-860 (SS-860XP Active PFC F3) model.

The discontinued model is actually 30mm longer than the latest Platinum-860 (SS-860XP2 Active PFC F3) model.

The Corsair AX860 uses Seasonic as its OEM and is based on the Seasonic Platinum-860 (SS-860XP2 Active PFC F3) platform. It uses exactly the same circuit board, components and shell as the SS-860XP2.

The Corsair AX860i uses Flextronics as its OEM. This model uses digitally controlled voltage regulation and includes Corsair LINK software that allows you to create custom fan profiles, etc.

I know all that l, question is which one would you suggest? Money is not an issue when I want to keep that PSU for 3+ years. My only concerns are quality and availability.

Any differences between the i non i version? I know one has that Corsair Link software and the digital control and that is made by flextronics while the other is the seasonic ss-860xp2 rebranded. But practically is anyone better than the other? More silent? more robust? better spike protection etc?
and has anyone tried that i version with a linux kernel? Thanks again in advance.
