I was thinking of get a dell XPS 8700 but I want to make sure will it support a Galaxy GTX 650 ti boot 1gb?

And how would I setup that video card in the xps 8700 do I have to do anything with the bios and what psu does it come with?

I hate that Dell doesn't bother listing the PSU that ships with the thing. After a bit of searching, it appears to come with a 460W PSU. The minimum for the 650 ti Boost is 400W so yes you will be fine. That card has the dimensions of 8.46" x 4.37" x 1.51" and will fit in there.

Edit: Sorry the Boosts recommended PSU is 450W so that could be pushing it but it would most likely be ok.

You gotta check and make sure that PSU has a 6-pin PCIe power connector to power the 650 TI Boost too. And that system with the 650 Ti BOOST won't draw over 300w, so you're safe there, as long as it's a decent quality PSU

It looks like that PSU does have the necessary power lead, so you will be fine the the BOOST model :)

Please dont buy an OEM computer. Build it yourself to be sure you can do this to it, or at least buy from a decent manufacturer, who isn't ripping you off. IF you must buy an OEM computer, which is a mistake, make the purchase from like cyberpower, or ibuypower, because they at least have decent pricing options for the computers. The dell 8700 xps has around half the performance of a comparable price built yourself computer, and around 2/3 the power of an oem computer from a decent manufacturer. Pleases dont make this huge mistake.

Dude, chill lol most people don't want/like to build, it's ok. While what you said is true, if someone wants to buy, it's ok. He's not using your money to buy it, and most likely doesn't want to have to deal with it himself. Buying from Dell gives him a warranty, technical support, and the ability to take it back if there is a problem.

crookedmouth, that PSU is good enough for the BOOST, no worries on power supply at all.

OP, the recommended PSU from the GPU manufacturers are almost always overstated. They do this so they're not liable if something happens, so they can use that as an excuse not to RMA it. You won't have a problem with your PSU and 650 Ti BOOST.

Okay, the first time I looked around someone was stating the Boost needed 20+ amps. I just found the benchmarks and it looks like under max load, it is 190W which I believe converts to 16 amps, leaving 16A for your CPU. Under full load I think that some i7s can also draw that much. I just didn't want to have the OP get something that wouldn't work.

Which CPU are you choosing btw?
