Xeon 5500 series are cheap to buy online. Dual LGA1366 server motherboards are not!
I was wondering if a combination between such processor and a desktop motherboard (for example a motherboard for Intel i7 900 series) would work?!? Obviously both processor and motherboard have the same socket LGA 1366 (socket B).
The specific models I have in mind are Alienware Model: 0H869M CN-0H869M MS-7591 and XEON 5530; Thanks!
