Im building my new computer (GTx 780, 4670k) and my current 2x 23in monitors are going on 5-6 years old now so i feel its time to upgrade to newer LED's.

My big issue now is do i go with 2 24in mediocre monitors, more specifically the BenQ VA LED Monitor GW2450 24-Inch [Which have pretty good reviews for there price]

-OR-

Do i go with this interesting 29inch 2560x AOC monitor? AOC 29-inch IPS Q2963PM (21:9) LED Monitor

My setup is going to be for gaming.. if i get the 29 inch monitor i can still use one of my old monitors.. but how does a 29inch fair for gaming? Seems so big and long with the 21:9 aspect ratio. And the resolution is weird 2560 x 1080...

Thoughts on what i should do?

Get a 120hz monitor. The screen tearing is really becoming an issue.

Just get a 3rd 23 inch monitor and play games in surround :)  Just use the new one as the center monitor.

Or alternatively any suggestions for 24 inch monitors in the 130-180 dollar range that are good for gaming?

Hey

2 or more monitors are great for video editing.
I would just not go for 4k video monitors for gaming like yours..

If you are into gaming you should* get a good gaming 27' monitor with 144HZ :) . You will never even want to go back to 60hz monitors. 1 monitor for gaming is great and 27' is big enough ( for me )
Also I have this one but 24', and it's something very cool and it also helps you a lot in your skills like in BF4 ( reactions. enemy spotting etc )

I use to have 3 monitors setup, but it took up to much room (with 3 23inchers it hung baout 4 inches off each side of my desk) When the one failed i decided to take the stand down and just use two.

Sounds like its time to get the stand back out. What type of games do you play? if its MMOs, RTS, moba games I'd get an IPS 60Hz monitor, if all you do is play first person shooters then the 120-144Hz monitors are a good idea.

I mainly play MMO's / RPG's with some FPS like Bf4.. but not very hardcore into the FPS but still do enjoy it.

About a 27in monitor is 1080 ok or should i try to go for 1440?

1080p at 27 inch is ok... 1440 would be much better, but the costs go up a lot. 27 inch 1080p's go for anywhere from $200-$400 the 1440p ones go for about $500-$1000. What is your budget?

I still think you should just get a 23 inch and use your other 2 monitors....
Get this one for your center.... http://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-U2312HM-IPS-Monit...

If you are dead set on a 27 inch, this is a good monitor.

And this one if you want the high 144Hz (it also has a nice stand)
