My house layout is as follows... Top floor/main floor/basement. Now I have a coxial cable in my room on the top floor it is suppose to run down all the way to the basement. Where my cable comes into my house... Is there any way I can figure out which cable it is in the basements that goes to the top floor in my room?

well you can buy or see if you can barrow a cable tester, fluke makes the microscanner3 that will test cat 5 and coax cable. Or you try this, it works better with two people but you can do it yourself. turn on the tv and go downstairs and unplug one of the cables then run back upstairs and see if the tv is till working, if it is go down and plug that cable back in and move to the next one. keep repeating till you find the cable that knocks out the signal to the tv.
