I broke my laptop screen, and i connected a vga monitor to my laptop to be able to see anything.
But now im having some trouble with my computer, and i would like to format and install Windows 7 in my wndows 7 operator system. With this monitor that i plugged in my laptop, only starts when the user session appears asking me put my personal password to enter the session. So, when i push the button to go to the boot menu before that, i only can se the menu in my broken laptop screen, making very hard to select the option that can make the computer starting with the Windows 7 cd to forma my laptop. is there any option to see the boot menu part already in the vga monitor screen that i attach to my laptop in order to format my laptop? do you have any advice to this problem? sorry my english.. thanks

Press f4 to switch the screen image among display devices connected to the computer. For example, if a monitor is connected to the computer, pressing this key alternates the screen image from the computer display to the monitor display to simultaneous display on both the computer and the monitor. Most external monitors receive video information from the computer using the external VGA video standard. The f4 key can also alternate images among other devices that are receiving video information from the computer.

You have to use the "action key" in conjunction with the F4. The action key is located in this graphic as "1". http://prntscr.com/2lc4wd
