You could get a ssd. Everything in the system is already pretty good. Check the temps and see if it runs cool enough.

Don't bother with the e3, it would need a new mobo which would also need a new windows key.

The spec sheet states the x5600 series. Dell support states the x5670. Same speed as the 5570 but it's a 6 core.

Everything is great. but xeons aren't made for gaming and you should better get an i5 or i7.

But for 700 it ain't bad at all.

And you sure will be able to play those games on ultra without any trouble.

See you on the battlefield!

Don't forget to pick a solution :p

The stuff you said about xeons is false. It's just a marketing name and gets the same exact performance as an equivalent i series. In this case it's exactly like a i7 920. You should be able to find something with a newer cpu at that price. But it is a decent price for those specs.

I got the seller down to $550, however since it's pretty old and quite a buit used, what are some upgrades I need for the system to perform better and last longer?

I'll look into the E3-1230V3

Then it wasn't a good buy as you'll have to get a new motherboard compatible with that new processor. According to http://www.dell.com/downloads/emea/edb/Dell_Precision_T3500_Technical_Guide.pdf the fastest processor supported by the T3500 is the Xeon X5570.
