Hey everyone,

I'm looking to quieten down my PC setup since it's unbearably loud ! I'm using a Corsair 350D case with the two stock AF140 and AF120 fans + the CPU fan... The system is overall REALLY LOUD... The CPU fan is running at 2400 RPM constant and the other two are at more reasonable 1100 - 1400 RPM settings... I have identified most noise from the CPU cooler...

What shall I opt to do ? I am going to be upgrading my PC soon ( getting 2 Corsair AF140 QE's up top for outtake on my 350D and moving the outtake 120 to the front as intake...) I've seen some people use adapters to "undervolt" the fans ( I think I saw them specifically use Noctuas ) Are these a good option ?? Since my only option is to get a fan controller for the front and top fans which I don't want ( they are PWM = not 4 pin and NOT MoBo controllable ) And another thing is I don't have enough fan headers on my MOBO is the best option to get a Molex to fan splitter ??

If so were can I get one in the UK ??

THNX

What do you mean ?? Fans I have a stock AF120 (outtake) and an SP140 ( intake ) and the CPU fan is some no name brand... It's a low profile one and the fan is at 2500 RPM and at about 35 dBa... LITERALLY it's THAT LOUD...

I don't really want to go down the "new cooler" road because I plan going watercooling sometime next year.. And about the fan controller, I don't want to put anything in the 5,25" bay since it DESTROYS the esthetics of the case.. :( :sarcastic:

Maybe a PCI mounted fan controller ?? But can it handle 5 fans ? :(

Well for example, many motherboards come with software that will allow you to turn down the fans without any additional hardware needed. But we can't say for sure, or give instructions, because we don't know what you have.

You will have to explain why the CPU fan is running at a constant speed and not powering down when idle , do you have the CPU fan connected to the CPU fan header? What CPU , heat sink and motherboard do you have ?

To turn the fan speed down you need a fan controller , unless you have an Asus motherboard that has the Asus Fan Expert which allows you to control the fan speed and the ones with the Q-Fan control can set fan speeds in the bios.
