Windows 11 update brings advertisements to the start menu

DVD drive not working after unplugging it.

After removing my DVD drive from my computer windows 8 no longer recognizes it and it does not show up in device manager. It does show up in bios.

Solution

You may need to use disk management (diskmgmt.msc) to enable it or assign it a drive letter.

is it plugged in to the original SATA port?

have you tried rebooting?
