I have a friend who was working from home with their business, but recently moved into a traditional business office park. I then helped them move their desktop PC from their home location to this new office space.

They had a Logitech wireless mouse and recently said it was acting all sporadically and very hard to use. Would kind of skip all over the place at times and very hard to narrow down on a certain area. I totally replaced it with a Microsoft wireless mouse and while I thought it was working fine when I installed it, they have notified me to say its working the same as the other one & not working good at all.

The receiver's for BOTH mice are only about 3 ft away so I know the distance is not the issue. I replaced the batteries with new ones and even tried cleaning the sensor area, but nothing seems to have worked.

They said they worked great back at the house, but for some reason are now not working in this office. Is it possible that there might be too much wireless interference in this office park that is affecting the wireless mouse?

I suggested they simply get a wired mouse, but just wondering if there are any suggestions here on what might be the problem.

It's possible the microsoft mouse isnt as good as the logitech one, microsoft products are usually...
I've had this problem with wireless mice before, the receiver being plugged into the back of my PC, which was on the side of my desk, not more than 4-5ft away from the mouse would get random disconnects occasionally for no reason. When I moved it to the front I/O ports, it worked better. But when i got a gaming keyboard, it had a USB slot in it (and the keyboard is wired) and when i plugged the wireless reciever in I no longer have disconnection issues (except when my mouse runs outta juice, which happens occasionally because i forget to plug it in every couple of days and then do long gaming sessions).

So conclusion, even though the wireless receiver isnt actually far away, there can still be a lot of interference between it and the mouse, and alot of this has to do with the environment, hence why it stopped working when they moved into the new office.

The only thing is its pretty much the same desk and same set up in the office as was in their home. While I haven't tried the Microsoft mouse, it did have a receiver that I was able to put on top of the desk. So, if anything, this newer one is actually closer and the receiver is about 1ft away and direct line of site.

Also, I just remembered that I helped another person in the office with their stuff and they got a new wireless logitech mouse AND keyboard. I hooked up both and they worked great for their computer so I am now thinking that it can't be the wireless thing if the other one works good. What else could be going on here?
