So I recently moved to an LGA 1150 mobo, and my zalman CNPS9700 clip won't fit the pre-drilled holes (just barely, too).

I've scoured the zalman site for an 1150 clip, and even sent an e-mail in (which a week later remains unanswered), and there are people on e-bay selling "1150" clips, but the product descriptions don't actually mention 1150.

So my question is: Is there a way to get it to fit (including buying something)? Should it fit already and my mobo is just off-spec?

Well... It definitely doesn't fit quite right, but I warmed the top bracket up in my stove and was able to get it to fit. However the bottom bracket was not usable (the screws simply wouldn't line up with it), so I went and bought some nylon washers and metal bolts to fasten the screws to the back side of the motherboard.

It seems to be functional at this point, we'll see if it keeps going.

On their website for the fan, they make this claim: "Supports all single and dual core CPUs of Intel`s Socket 1150/1155/1156/775".

The mobo itself can't be different for a quad-core as a opposed to a dual/single, so if the 1155/1156 share the same hole pattern as the 1150, then my mobo must simply be off spec slightly. That or my bracket warped subtly during previous use.
