So my PC just stops at the POST screen, won't go into BIOS when I try, and after about 40 seconds the screen just goes gray and stays like it.

I'm thinking my motherboard is dead, anyone else have any ideas?

Make sure everything is plugged in securely. If your motherboard has a 24pin connector, use all 24 pins. If your cpu has an 8pin connector, use all 8 pins. What is your system and how many watts is your power supply?

It was working perfectly fine when I left this morning, haven't touched anything on the inside since a new GPU in September. Specs:
i7 3820 oc'd at 4.10Ghz, GTX 770 SC, X79-UP4 Mobo, Consair 850W PSU. 8GB Consair DDR3 RAM.

I think you should try clearing the CMOS. It could also be a monitor problem as well, try plugging your PC into another monitor. Go in and make sure all the power cables necessary are connected for the GPU to work, it could be a GPU issue too. You could also remove the graphics card all together, swap out with a different graphics card (because your motherboard does not have onboard graphics) and see if it is a GPU issue.

I don't think so because your motherboard has no onboard video. Do you have another display you could plug your pc into temporarily?

Are all your fans spinning fine and does your motherboard have lights that glow to show the CPU is working? If all of those are not lit up it could mean the CPU isn't functioning properly.

Okay. Just make sure everything is seated correctly (like the GPU). Does your computer usually beep when it turns on? If so, is it not beeping now?
