I'm sorry if this isn't in the right place, I'm a little new to this website. I recently replaced motherboards in my computer and after replacing it and re-installing windows and all the drivers, I noticed some odd performance in my games. It would run as it should for around 3 minutes of playing, then the frame rate drops for 30 seconds or so, then goes back to normal. It does this with all games so far. An example is when playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl. It runs at around 100 fps then drops for a minute, then goes back up. I have my GPU usage up on my other monitor and when the frame rate drops, the usage goes to below 30% then shoots up to 100% then back to 30%. I'm up to date on all my drivers and freshly re-installed windows on my Hard Drive. Anyone know a fix for this?

Gigabyte Radeon HD 7950
Windows 7 SP1 64 bit
MSI 970a-g46 Motherboard
Dynex 500w PSU

Could be an issue regarding dual monitor configuration, try playing with only one monitor connected.

However, I'd point at your PSU, if a voltage drop occurs then the GPU will throttle until it gets enough power to run again at it's max speed.
