I've got a pair of Sennheiser HD 598's, plugged into an Astro Mixamp Pro, plugged into a Soundblaster Audigy Z sound card - and while they're good headphones, they have their drawbacks.

1. They aren't noise cancelling, so I hear everything around me.
2. They're designed for music, they just don't have the kick I want for gaming.
3. There is no microphone, period.
4. There is no real volume control at my fingertips - which is supplemented by the MixAmp.

So - I'm looking for a good pair of gaming headphones. I realized when I was at Best Buy the other day and tried on a pair of Razer Kraken Pro's - that I'm just totally missing out on what I need for audio in a game versus audio for music and movies.

I've been looking at the Razer BlackShark 2.2 headset, I'd go with another pair of Sennheiser's - but they don't make noise cancelling headphones, and in all honesty they're a bit uncomfortable for long term use.

I also have a Playstation 4, I'd like a pair of headphones that are compatible with that system, and while I can plug the MixAmp pro into it and make any set compatible - I've really been considering perhaps going wireless.

The problem there is that I've never had a chance to listen to some wireless headphones - every Turtle Beach set I've listened to is garbage.

I've been looking at the Astro H50 wireless gaming headset - but I honestly have never heard it first hand, and dropping 300 bucks on a headset I've never actually heard is rough, to say the least.

What do you all recommend? What is going to blow my socks off with regards to gaming audio? I need loud bass, I need something that's Dolby Digital LIve or DTS compatible, and preferably surround sound compatible - but still has the 3.5 MM jacks to be compatible with my MixAmp, rather than simulated surround sound with a USB plugin.

I'm running my MixAmp through an optical line - I hope that's the best choice here, if not I can run it through the direct input jacks on the soundcard.

All in all - there's just too much going on in the audio department for me to know what I'm doing properly.

I need you audiophiles to give me a helping hand here, I just don't have the energy to invest days and days of research into this stuff to know what I should get and do with my current setup to get everything optimal.

Money is no object, but as I said, I'd like to keep it under $200 unless the headset is something miraculous.

acording to several people the turtle beach 7 is a good headset, otherwise just go and buy the rog orion. since it's from asus then you don't have to worry about quality as they always make egood gaming stuff. they also have a good rating and a decent price and looks great too. have a nice day.

You can get a Siberia elite its just the best right now
7.1 surround sound... and mic and volume controls are in the headset itself, or you can get a razer tiamat 7.1 surround sound the only reason Is because you can switch between 2.1 sterio and 7.1 surround.
I would recommend the Siberia elite its build quality is good and in my opinion its the best atm.
