Hello, lately my Imac which is around 3 years old has been crashing with blue screen or black screen when i alt tab from a game ( i play WoW and Hearthstone and usually have a stream running in the background that i watch or listen to ) the error it gives is a STOP 0x0000003b error.

Now im not really good with computers so ive been searching the internet lately and tried to do everything i can, i have uninstalled and reinstalled my graphics drivers which is now AMD Radeon 6600m and 6700m series, but the problem still persists. i have no idea how to fix it. i have ran multiple scans with advanced system care, i have tried lowering the performance of my computer to balanced ( even though it had no problems on higher performances earlier on ).

Any help would be great because it is frustrating to alt tab with fear of just getting your screen black but still hearing noises in the background or just getting a blue screen.

Thanks.

Have you recently added any peripherals or other devices?

When it happens again try Ctrl+Shift+Eject(put monitor to sleep) then try to wake it normally. Alternately place a shortcut to put your monitor to sleep where you can blindly try to click it.

i haven't but i dont think that iStat will work on windows 7, and even if i switch to Mac OS i won't have the same temperature with windows 7, but i think i can install another program and check the temperature with that, and ill consider lowering brightness and see if it works, thank you.

Heh. I just saw iMac and figured you were using Mac OS.

Try making a shortcut on your desktop to make your computer go to sleep. Put it at the top right corner, so you can double click it blind. Then see if waking your computer will bring it back and wake monitor.

Right Click in the desired location (On the Desktop or in a folder)
Select New -> Shortcut
In the “Type the location of the item” field enter the following
Rundll32.exe Powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState Sleep
Click Next
This will create a shortcut with the name rundll32,
Right Click the shortcut, select Rename and type in Sleep
