When I'm building my PC, this coming April. I'm confused on to which motherboard I should purchase.
Things that appeal to me:
- Good on-board sound
- Good warranty
- Room for expandability

I've done my own research. But I want to hear what you guys think about it :)
EDIT: Just realised my ram is 2133 mhz, so the Sabertooth is out!

You can compare the Formula and Hero at newegg:

The Formula has some extra goodies (e.g. wireless) but it costs $100 more. You can add wireless to the Hero with a $40 PCi-E card.

The sound is the same.

The Formula has more room for expandability as far as SATA ports (10 instead of 8), but sane people use USB 3 external drives rather than 10 internal drives so this is not very important IMO.

Another vote for the Hero...

Edit: can't figure out how to post a long URL. Put these two lines together:

I have the Hero and its looks nice with my Asus GTX 780 Ti DirectCU II red decals, i5 4670K and GSkill Trident X 2400MHz. Front panel audio is really good as the rear. If I had the money, I went with the Formula (watercool ready I believe), still the Sabertooth is still a good motherboard. These choices right now is more like color preferences.

Hi,

I bought a ASUS Maximus VI Hero mobo recently and I pretty happy with it. It got the features of a ROG mobo but at a more affordable price, it has a lot of ports, it is reliable and this mobo is VERY sexy :p Personaly, I don't like the Sabertooth, but it's a good mobo too. Anyway, you can't go wrong with the Hero :)

P.S. I got my computer for about 3 months and I'm still happy with it. Maybe this post isn't the best, but it's an opinion that can help :)
