Hello Guys

Im currently using a pc with a core 2 duo e8400 oc'ed to 3.24 ghz, 4gb of 667mhz ram and a gtx 550 and i was wondering if I buy a Dell Precision 690 with dual xeon(quad core) and and i put this gtx 760 in it that i bought from craigslist, would that be a worthy upgrade. or would i be better off buy a core i3 something and putting that same gpu with it

Sorry for the late response, but you could go for a cheap FX series processor or something like a 4 core Phenom II, then I would. But if you go through AMD, you will need a new motherboard that supports those processors.

Xeon processors are for servers, not for gaming. If you spend your money in that kind of system, you will see a friend running a half of the cost of your machine with higher FPS and smoother. So, an I3 will be pretty much a nice beggning but for the money you cant go wrong with a i5 4430 with that GTX 760, thats a balanced system that will pretty much run everything perfect.

What's your budget? how much do you have to spend in this machine?
