Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P or Asus M5A97 R2.0 Motherboard ?

Been trying to find reviews of the Gigabyte 970A-UD3P all over the net but there is none so I was wondering which board would be the best for an FX 8320 Overclock to around 4.2 - 4.5Ghz ?

More about gigabyte 970a ud3p asus m5a97 motherboard
  1. I'd go with the Asus, it handles OCing the best
  2. I missed out its the Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 Motherboard.
  3. The EVO will work as well
  4. Is the EVO worth the £10 more than the M5A97 R2.0 as I'm on a budget?

  5. Bump?
  6. Does it have any special feature(s) you Need? If not, then no, probably not worth the extra
  7. The EVO has a 6+2 power phrase which I've read is better for overclocking, the M5A97 R2.0 has a 4+2 power phrase. will this even matter when O/C ?
  8. Very little
  9. yeah but the gigabyte UD3P listed by the OP has an 8+2 power phase and 2x copper all around it is best
suited to overclock an FX 8 core CPU, i will defently go with the gigabyte board
  10. I have a FX8350 CPU an i would like to overclock it a bit, about 4,5 max.Which board should i buy? The ASUS or the Gigabyte? I am on a budget also....under 100.
  11. Gigabyte 970a-UD3P is the best budget board to overclock these CPU's, it has an 8+2 digital power phase and good quality VRM's, good quality board all around, the only thing is the the 970 boards all comes with only one pcie16x slot so if you want to do SLI or crossfire with 2 graphics card you want a 990FX board, these are quite a bit more expensive tho...but the gigabyte 970a-UD3P would defenetly be my choice for a stab at reaching the highest overclocks possible...

The Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 is a good board too if you can't find the UD3P go with the EVO it has a 6+2 power phase only but will allow for good overclocking too anyway...(make sure its the EVO cause the standard one has only a 4+2 power phase and will not overclock very well and will heats up a lot more)
