well for $100 you could get some ath-m50s on ebay brand new if in the usa. there is a huge difference between the m50s and m30s. the m50s dont require the use of an external amp for use on pc, mp3, smartphone and many other devices suprisingly. this is likely do to the relatively low reistance of the headphones.
they do make pc headset to ps3 adapters.

i have never used one though.
i'm also not sure how well the usb port would power the headphones. you could always give it a try and if it doesnt work at a high enough volume level for you well then you always get a fiio headphone amplifier later on. you said ps3 was optional
in case you were wondering, yes i personally own a pair of m50s and have for years. i've used them for everything from music to gaming to movies and they perform well. the reason i like them is that although they are pretty even across the boards they have sufficient bass compared with other options for the money. sennheisers are nice as well however are well known for having really low bass output. while i say they have sufficient bass they arent "bass heavy" or "bass at the expense of all else" type headphones like the beats or sony xb. while having sufficient bass output for things like rock music, explosionsl, etcetera it doesnt muddle the rest of the sounds.
anyways... just my take on things.
