Ok so I haven't downloaded anything, the desktop was there and yet after streaming a ppv over frontrowsports (in full screen) I closed the window to find the desktop was black and my icons had vanished. I have tried the obvious things such as personalize->Show Desktop Icons to no avail. Interestingly, I can change the dektop background solid colour but I cannot put a picture on there. I wondered whether something has been deleted or corrupted but interestingly, I cannot left click and drag a box over the, now blue, desktop. I can right click and get the options, the toolbar works fine. There is literally no dekstop at all!
I am running Windows 8.1 Pro and as far as I can tell, all drivers are up to date.
Oh and I have also rolled the system back 3 days which has not fixed the issue.
