My grandson knocked my hp laptop over now all i get is a white screen when i switch it on can anyone tell me what is wrong

It sounds like the ribbon cable from the board to the monitor has been dislodged it looks like this http://mwolk.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/laptop_screen_replacement_datacable.jpg If you are confident to take apart the laptop you can push it back in place, if not take it to a shop, its an easy fix for them a shouldn't cost to much. The white display is the back light and its not receiving any video signal from the laptop
