Hi,

I currently have a Dell 24" 2408 that runs at 60hz (max 75hz on certain resolutions) with a 6ms response time.

I read some comments that a 120hz monitor with a 1-2ms response time would make a huge difference in terms of gaming for first person shooters etc.

Is this true, is there really going to be that big a difference?
Right now in the games I play I average around 150-200fps.

Can anyone also recommend a good 24" gaming monitor if this is the case?

Thanks

Not sure if you own a GTX gpu, but if you do, wait out for the new G-Sync monitors that coming out Q2 this year, so "really soon". In the circumstance you do not own a GTX 650ti or above, then go with this monitor as many gamers are satisfied with the performance and features. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Thinking of just getting the Asus VG248QE now for the faster refresh and response times over my 2408 6ms 60Hz. Do you really think this would be a significant upgrade?

I currently own the BenQ XL2411Z and there is a night and day difference between 144Hz and my other 60Hz monitor. When I game, I must use my 144hz BenQ because of how smooth it feels and can never go back to the choppy feeling of 60hz.

I ended up buying the Benq XL2411Z and I love it.

There is definitely a difference between 120/144Hz and 60Hz.
It's extremely smooth in games and even in the windows desktop you can tell the difference moving the mouse around.

Glad to hear, yea the xl2411z is by far my favorite gaming monitor :)  The blur reduction mode really is effective.
