Please advice

Should I buy :

i5 4670k (or should i buy fx 8350)

"xfx" R9 280x (are there some serious heating issues with the brand xfx r9 280x to be specific?)

Asus M5A99FX PRO or ASRock Z87 Extreme3 (Extreme4 is unavailable )
please suggest a motherboard for around us $200 if you know any mobo better than these

Display would be a 24 inch with around 5ms response time, please suggest accordingly, my budget for the display is around us $200

how would games like battlefield 4 , metro, etc perform overall on such a configuration ?

Thank You

Stick with the 4670k, the 8350 is absolutely pants in comparison, you'll get better performance with the i5 than the FX.

Also I'd say not going with XFX, they've tended to be pretty crap in the past with rubbish, loud coolers. I'd say go with an Asus, Sapphire, MSI or Gigabyte one, as the coolers are generally pretty decent with them.

few notes of my own...
i5 is always a better option than any amd.
i'd say go for 770-4gb instead of 280x as it is much faster card for any resolution.
the display shall be 2ms gray-to-gray at least, it is a kind of standard these days.
about mobo, any mobo around $120-150 from asrock, asus, msi or gigabyte would more than enough there is absolutely no need to spend extra cash, unless you specifically need extra features and know what you want.

have fun.

hello,

I understand that the gtx 770 is superior however I am getting the r9 280 x at a cheaper price
Moreover, shouldn't I look forward to Mantle , might be a success might be a flop idk

280X is a good card too and not far behind 770 and in some cases (higher resolutions i mean, 1600p or more) it is even slightly better, since it has more video ram. however, mantle thing shouldnt do much difference. I mean, price tag is the main difference in here if you wanna go for 280X, I dont really care about the mantle hehe, i'd prefer physx (plus 770 is a better card) over mantle any time :bounce: eventhough they are different stuff...

but if you're concerned about the price, get 280X its a good choice as well and my choice would be MSI Gaming, XFX is really not a good idea...
