So, my laptop has a stuck red pixel. It didn't bother me much until a line of white pixels appeared from top to bottom and going through the stuck pixel. This seems to be some kind of defect in the display panel.
Now I want to change my screen and the question is - do I need a genuine screen made exactly for the same laptop, or will any screen work, as long as it has the same specs? (My laptop screen has 1366x768 resolution, Led backlight, 40 pin connector, 15,6")

Solution
An aftermarket screen will be fine. You should also be able to up the resolution if you wish. I swapped screens on my dell and went from 1366 to 1600 and it worked fine.
