As title Says i want to upgrade ram in my system,
Current config is :

Fx8320
M5a97 EVO R2.0
2x2gb EVM (Dynet) DDR3 1333
7850 (is in RMA process right now )
Corsair CX500v2

my friend got his Ram sticks RMA'ed from corsair that is 2x2gb XMS3 1333mhz sticks and it has still around 8years of warranty left i'm getting it for around 2K while new sticks will cost me 3.5K here i was planning for Kingston Hyper X Blu/Red but i think this is a good deal,

So My Question is i have 4 slots in mobo and i was wondering if it is a good idea to have 4x2gb ram sticks cos i'm planning to pair it with EVM rams will it create problems or instability, performance or in something else or i can go for it ? or i should wait and sell current rams and buy 2x4gb same modules ?

Thanks in Advance.

If you can try this other set of 2x2GB first and they will work with your current, then sounds like a good deal and you have 8GB, then if you need more in the future could always sell off both your old and new and move up

You have already 4x2GB RAM sticks - that already fills up all your memory slots. What do you mean by pairing it up with EVM RAMs? Are you planning to add more RAMs on your current four sticks? How will it fit?

With the current rising prices on DDR3 memories - I wouldn't recommend buying another set of RAMs for the same size if you're tight on your budget. You're just changing your memory modules from 8GB(4x2GB) to 8GB(2x4GB). But you're willing to pay for it and it's for aesthetic purposes because of the heatspreaders - I'd say just go for it.

Does it have the same clock timings and speeds? If not - it may cause instability. Also, aesthetic-wise - does two different kits installed still look good if you ever did purchase the extra 2x2GB kit? :D

I would suggest in buying of a new 2x4GB if it fits in your budget or just buy another 2x2GB that is the same with your currently installed RAMs.

So there is not any problem using 4sticks of 2gigs right ? no performance issues and all i can go for it without worrying ?
