i am going to buy a nvidia gtx 650i 2gb oc edition but i cant decide between asus' version and gigabyte' version. i do own a gigabyte mobo and it is runing without any problem

Solution

I won't recommend AMD because of that reason (drivers)

The 7790 performs similar to the GTX 650 Ti (the 7790 is slightly better)

BTW I was looking for the reviews where I thought I saw them test the 650 Ti on BF4. My bad, it was BF3 (1900x1200 at med-high with 4xAA, they averaged around 34-35 FPS)

Here's a really good chart for comparing performance so you can see what is better (in NVidia) and what is comparable to it in AMD : http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-7.html

Agreed, go with the one thats cheaper at the time. Both Asus and Gigabyte are very reliable brands and they both have very well designed cooling. I personally own a Gigabyte GTX 770 4GB because I caught it on sale for $360 while the Asus GTX 770 4GB was around $430.

+1 to both answers above but I'd throw in that you should look for an even cheaper 1GB version. Review after review after review has found that the extra 1GB is useless and provides no increase to performance. It's a marketing gimmick to get an extra 30-50$ from you.

No because the GPU can't access the extra 1GB fast enough. If you want, look up reviews of that card, I believe many of them actually use BF4 as one of the games they test.

BTW If you're going to play BF4 at 1080p you may want to get a faster card. FPS on this (I have the EVGA GTX 650 Ti SSC 1GB) GPU are kind of low (20-30 at med-high settings, no AA)

And just to throw this out there. If you only have 117$ right now and you want decent/good performance on BF4 @ 1080p you're going to need to save up for a better GPU. BF4 is really hard on GPUs and you either need to be o.k with less performance (I wouldn't) or wait a bit and save up some more $$$ for a card that can do what you want.
