Hello,

I've recently restored factory settings on my acer aspire one laptop.

Internet explorer is not loading any pages for me now despite me being connected to the wireless network. Any suggestions?

This may or may not be relevant but before I restored factory settings chrome wouldn't allow me to browse because it could not guarantee I was on a secure network or something. Firefox worked slowly. I believe it was a virus, hence restoring factory settings.

Can we assume that a wired connection is working? If so, you may have answered a question incorrectly in the windows network setup and it believes that the network is public or something stupid like that. I had problems like this a long time ago when I first got Windows 7 and I cursed for days until I finally hit on something. I wish that I remember what I deleted or did but it was all in the creation of the 'home network' crap in Windows.

What do you mean by "Restored factory settings"? Was this a wipe of the hard drive and reinstalling the software from scratch?

You most likely are missing your network (LAN) drivers. Go onto Accer's website on another computer and download the application to run the drivers, then via a USB thumb drive, transfer the driver application to the laptop then run it.
