CPU: Pentium Dual E2160 @1.80Ghz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8500 GT
RAM: 1G

Having some trouble in loading in-game with dota 2 (after clicking the "ready" when match is ready"). Usually takes 2 loading (2 failed) before I can successfully connect in-game.

I heard they upgrade the system requirements. I know i need to add more RAM, but will it solve the loading issue? Is there anything else i need to upgrade? I just want to play Dota 2.

Solution
In general your system is just old, it might not even be one particular thing that's causing the issue.

It not loading fast enough (assuming your Internet connection is fine) leads me to think it could be slow storage, but again it could be any number of things. Make sure that your disk is defragmented and that there isnt anything running in the background.

Any attempt to upgrade the machine in a meaningful way would result in a whole new rig, you cant upgrade the CPU without replacing the mobo and RAM. Cant upgrade the GPU without the PSU as its old and likely not powerful enough, and the CPU and its own trail of parts because the old one will bottleneck. By this point you need a new HDD because your current ones IDE, a new case just...

Pretty much if you want to upgrade, drop the pretense and get a new rig.

Yeah, this is old. my mobo btw is P5SD2-VM.

(Any attempt to upgrade the machine in a meaningful way would result in a whole new rig)
-----I'm planning to "a little bit" upgrade my CPU to Core 2 Duo E7400 since it's compatible to my mobo and make my RAM to 4g. Would that be okay?

I'm also planning on building a new one. I'm just utilizing this for quite a bit while saving money for building a new rig.
