Hi guys, names Adam. First time posting here. Hope everyone is okay ;)

I'm planning on getting a second graphic card to supplement my rig, below is the set up that I purchased, do you think that a second card identical to the current one will be ok with the current power supply?
I believe there was a previous post staging 850w was acceptable but I just wanna make sure so my system doesn't explode in my face, lol. Thanks again.

Solution
If you already have a 1000W PSU, then you will be fine, nothing to complain about. BTW that PSU especially that model is a TIER 3 Brands. Power supplies fully able to meet ATX specs, although closer to the edges of the limits than higher tier units. Still solid units.

HD 7970 is 250W card on max load, so Xfire will need roughly 500W. Good luck.

850w is more than enough. i have an almost similar setup, it is pulling 400w at full load (prime + kombustor) and pulls around 350w playing battlefield 4 at ultra. an extra 7970 will probably put another 250w tops

Pay no attention to your critics. The 1000W supply will never be stressed in your system which is something posters on this board just don't seem to understand. It will not cost you one penny more to run a 1000W than a 500W and you will have the peace of mind to know you will never be short on power. Just be sure to buy a quality supply no matter what the size. I recently bought a Seasonic 1050W which is performing very well.
