I have in the process of recovering data from an internal drive from my laptop which failed to reboot after I tried to extend a partition into an area where a separate partition once lived...

I've connected the HDD to my desktop and the drive shows as I:. I know the data (on the middle partition) is on the drive - in computer management I can see it and the drive is Active and Healthy. However when I select the drive it asks if I would like to format it to which the answers is a clear NO!

There is about 25GB of data to copy over, however I can't seem to find a once-off piece of software that will let me copy this down without paying huge amounts of money.

Any suggestions to see the data within Windows 8.1, or for a third party freeware tools?

Cheers,

R
