Had to change router, (storm damaged previous one) and now laptop won't turn on properly - not even safe mode, although it works with wireless everywhere else McDonalds, other offices).
BT line, so they suggest they know of the fault but don't know how to fix it.
Work's IT support suggest there's nothing wrong with the laptop, but the router is dodgy.
Other laptops and ipads etc connect fine to the new router, so what to do? Current suggestions - buy a new laptop (!), BT say buy a new router (though acknowledging that the fault may remain) ... must be something else?!

Did you go into the network control panel, manage wireless networks and delete you old wireless network, then restart your computer and allow it to find the signal from the new router?

What OS?

Just to clarify, when you say that "it won't turn on properly," you simply mean that wireless does not work for the laptop at home? Is it otherwise working?

No, laptop not working at all here in the house, just the blue screen of doom. Elsewhere it loads and runs ok,. If we disable wireless then here in the house it will run ok too. So it seems to be a wireless/connectivity issue with this specific router, and now others we try through the same phone line. These same routers still work fine for a range of other devices, so it's not them, rather the laptop?

We've also tried a net gear dongle but the laptop still won't respond here
