C2d 2.93 ghz
3gb ram
my monitor res 1366* 768
I know this gpu will be surely bottlenecked by this poor processor, but what would be the extent of bottlenecking? After bottleecking, will i be able to play games in playable condition or it will be completely unplayable like only 5-10 fps? I mean games like bf4,cod ghost,ac4 ,nfs rivlas, watch dogs, etc

Solution
It should be fine for medium-high for the next 2-3 years depending on game, it'd be your CPU/mobo and memory that you need to upgrade by then

More games are actually listing a quad core as part of their minimum requirements, so dual cores won't be doing well for much longer
Agree with the resolution you are running at I do not think you will have to worry much about bottlenecking. Most games are dependent more on the GPU than the CPU so I think you will be fine. The only other thing I would consider would be more ram other than that I think you should be fine.

R u sure? So,you mean only a good gpu( gtx 660), sufficient ram kit and a good psu and i'll be good to go?
R u sure,I would be able to play bf4 and watch dogs.According to you how much frames would i get.
All are telling that i should upgrade my cpu cuz the bottleneck would be of epic but according to you,due to 720p monitor,i need not to worry, right?

Probably like 40%. But still that GPU at 60% is very powerful, so you are pretty fine right now. You can play games at 1080p Medium without problem with that config. You can upgrade your CPU later if you like with a 70 dollar AMD quad core and a 50 dollar motherboard.

Just noticed that your resolution is about 720p, then you are looking at 45+ FPS at Medium settings.

FYI, resolution only affects GPU load, not CPU. The game is no easier for the CPU to run at lower resolution.

Okay, not let me explain it in detail. Since it has only 2 cores and BF4 uses upto 8 cores, hence the CPU would bottleneck the GPU in BF4, so the GPU utilization would go even lower.

So, the GPU utilized would not be suitable enough for 1080p, hence taking the load off the GPU would increase frame rates. Hence 720p at Medium.

Is that clear or I need to explain more?

Sorry, but you are just wrong. If the CPU is bottlenecking the GPU and holding back performance, then as long as the GPU is capable enough to run the resolution (in this case 1080p) then the FPS will still be limited by the CPU. Changing the resolution will only make a difference if the GPU is being maxed out and you want to increase the performance by reducing the GPU load.

Perfect example thanks. That clearly shows that with the CPU bottlneck and a good GPU that changing the Resolution and graphics quality has practically no difference in FPS, as the CPU is the limiting factor. :)

Hey,I have watched this video before. In comparison with his rig, only my processor is better.Rest all parts are of great difference. He has 7970 and i want to have gtx 660.Since, my processor is better ,will i get same fps as him or better?
He is getting 10-15 fps at ultra setings which is not very bad also.
Also, can that youtuber be trusted or he is making fake videos?

You should get better FPS than him because he is showing that the CPU is bottlnecking. a 7970 would get great FPS with the right CPU.

Your C2D is way way better than a Pentium 4. 30FPS should be no problem with a gtx 660.

Then you should be fine for now, just save and plan for an overhaul/upgrade when you feel that your system isn't playing newer games as well as you like

From your older post, as long as your power supply is adequate (24A or more on the +12v rail), then it should do fine
