I installed windows 7 on my mac but i couldnt right click or adjust volume, so i installed the bootcamp support software and it fixed some things but there still isnt sound and i cant right click or scroll with the trackpad. I have tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them several times. Is there anyway i can get the drivers to work? thanks for any help!

What model of Mac are you referring to?

Also, is Windows 7 (via Windows Update) fully updated as well?

Different macs require different versions of Bootcamp. I ran into the same problem and realized I needed to use an older version of Bootcamp. Here is a requirement chart that you can refer to to see which version you need.

I'm not really sure. Maybe installing Bootcamp 5 first and uninstalling might have screwed things up? This might be a silly question but did you install the bootcamp drivers on the mac side?

No it said when i installed bootcamp to install them on the windows side, and anyway they are all .exe files so i dont know if i could run them on the mac side. Also everything works on the mac side just not on the windows side.

Yeah that's right... it's been a while since I installed bootcamp. Did you try installing the 32bit version if you installed the 64bit version or visa versa? I don't know I have another machine that game me problems with bootcamp where it didn't recognize certain hardware.

What is the difference between 32bit and 64bit? I was thinking of reinstalling with the 32bit version but I thought 32bit couldnt run a lot of applications.

Well it really depends on which Windows OS is installed on your computer. The 64 bit 32 bit is directly related to which CPU your computer has. 64 bit obviously handles more information quicker.

You can check which Windows OS is installed in your bootcamp by clicking start and then right clicking on computer, clicking properties.

64-bit does not do anything faster than 32-bit Win 7. 64-bit allows you to use more than 4GB of memory which can allow you to run more apps, more efficiently. Driver support for both versions are virtually identical.

What specific model of Mac is this? That has never been answered and with the info, it should be easy to locate the needed drivers for all devices, regardless of which version of Windows is used with Boot Camp.

I doknt know how to tell what specific model it is but it is a black macbook (I think they only made 1 black mabook) and it is running 10.6.8 snow leopard. when i try to download support software from the actual bootcamp application it says there i no software availiable, so i had to manually download it.

According to Apple. Boot Camp support seems to only be available for the 32-bit version of Win 7 for your Macbook:

It could be that Windows Update may have installed drivers over your original drivers. What specific devices are causing the issue?

I dont think the windows update is doing it becasue it hasnt updated anything in a couple weeks. It takes like ten seconds to right click. the sound is working but the volume buttons arent working, and every time i try to resume from sleep the screen is really dark and i have to force shut down and restart.

When you use OS X, do you have any similar issues?

Also, speaking of Windows Update, have you let it run to fully update your system?

No, the OS X side works fine but i rarely use that side becasue it is super slow for some reason. Also i did let windows updates fully update.

I assume all hardware works as intended on the OS X side. True?

BTW, if you connect a mouse (when using Win 7) to your rig (and disable the touchpad in Device Manager), does the system perform better?

Yes all hardware works on the OS X side and all drivers work on that side. It doesnt really make a difference wether i plug in a mouse or not (although there is no delay when right clicking).

Understood. This is an odd one. I have seen the disappearing sound icon/volume control in the taskbar resolved by updating video and audio drivers. In your case, you should already be good to go. There are also some Windows Updates that can affect these functions. Is Windows fully up to date?

In Device Manager, is any device flagged as having any issues (like unable to load drivers)?

Also, I would go into the Control Panel /Power Options and disable both Sleep and Hibernate functions. Both of these functions can cause issues with Win 7 (you can search the forums for piles of these issues). Do this especially when using AC power.

Ok what you said about sound or video car drivers ight be whats causing it , but im not sure why. A while back i had a game installed and it ran fine, but recently it has said i have outdated video card drivers, and it cant run. I tried updating them, but it said they are fully up to date. Idk if that helps or not.

Nothing says it has driver issues or any other kind of issue in device manager. Also another strange thing is that it says plugged in and charging always. Even when it isnt plugged in. Disabling sleep or hibernate doesnt do anything.

Go here and get the drivers from Intel for your video adapter (select the Win 7 32-bit ones) and install them. That will help with the driver update.

That didnt fix any of the drivers. Normally I would just reinstall the drivers, but i want to find out why this is happenning so i dont have to reinstall them every few weeks.
