hi, i've bought new components for my pc.

new mobo gigabyte
new ram 8gb corsair vengeance
cpu cooler h80
case and psu by coolermaster
xfx AMD HD 7850 2gb

the only thing i have not changed is my CPU which is an:

AMD Phenom II X4 840 3.2GHz

is it worth upgrading for about £90-£120 for one of the FX series processors. the processor is coming up to 3 years old.

i've heard many great things about the FX series and over clocking ease. Anyone who owns one please answer, rather than intel owners. Or anyone with sound knowledge.

thanks.

You could get away with an FX 8320 and multiplier bump it to an FX 8350 speed. I wouldn't do much more than that with that particular board. Had you bought a 970a-ud3 or ud3p, you would be set well for overclocking. I would say it is definitely worth the upgrade.
