Hello Fellas,

I need some expertise, please :)

I need to know how big of a PSU I should be using, I purchased some new stuff and I'm not sure if ill be able to use the same PSU I have atm which I think is 500 or 550. Below is what my system has.

CPU - AMD FX-4100 Zambezi 3.6GHz w/ ZALMAN CNPS9500A-LED 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler
MOBO - ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0
GPU - XFX Double D HD-687A-ZDFC Radeon HD 6870 1GB
RAM - G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB DDR3 1866
SSD - SAMSUNG 840 EVO MZ-7TE120BW 2.5" 120GB
HARD DRIVE - Random 500GB 7200 RPM :??:
CASE - Corsair Graphite Series 600T CC600TM

Please, Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance! :bounce:

500W is the suitable wattage for your system. Since there are no good PSUs un 500W range, I highly recommend this XFX 550W made by Seasonic http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168....

If you could return the FX-4100 and the HD 6870, I would exchange it to FX-6300 and a AMD Radeon R9 270X because they are newer and will perform better in the future.

Well the CPU and the GPU are my old parts lol, I upgrade my MOBO, RAM, SSD, CPU fan and Case. Im low on cash and will have to upgrade those next time. So a 550W should be good to run the system though?

Yes. You will barely use 400W at full load but the extra 150W will give you more headroom for extra components, fans, sound cards, fan controllers, leds, etc...
