Hi,
If you don't have at least a fx-6300 or core i5 paired with at least a gtx 660 / radeon 7970and 8 gb of ram, I don't think you can play bf4 at descent FPS.
Battlefield 4 system requirements
The minimum PC system requirements for Battlefield 4 are expected to be:
Dual core CPU (Intel Core i5 or AMD “Bulldozer”).
At least 4 GB main system memory
Graphics card with at least 512 MB of VRAM and support for DirectX 10
30+ GB of harddrive space
Windows Vista
Recommended system requirements
The recommended PC system requirements for optimal visual quality and frame rates:
Quad core CPU (Intel Core i5 or i7) at 3 Ghz
4 GB memory (8 GB for 64-bit operating systems)
A modern DX11 graphics card with 2+ GB of video memory, GeForce 600 series or Radeon 7000 series
Windows 7 64-bit operating system (Windows 8 is supported as well)
30+ GB of free harddrive space
Do you mean
7870? A 7970 is a great bit higher than the recommended GPU, in fact, the 7870 is the specifically listed
recommended GPU.
With what you said I mostly agree, except that you can run BF4 with decent FPS with a lot worse equipment than a FX-6300/i5 CPU and a GTX 660/7870, it just will have to be at a lower resolution, lower settngs, or both. In fact, I can run BF4 on 1366x768 low/medium settings hybrid at around 40FPS off of an AMD a10-4600M mobile APU in a laptop, so that shows you how low you can really get to run the game, if it isn't bugged like it is on my desktop.
