I wouldn't say that's normal no matter what cooler is on top of it. Check to make sure that the cooler is mounted securely. If one of those 4 posts with the plastic clips is loose, it could mean less than ideal contact with the processor and cooler and is causing the heat issues. The other thing is that, depending on the thermal paste used, it might require a period of time for it to reach it's maximum performance. I don't know if you can see inside your case with it closed, but maybe the fan is either dead or not connected as well? I've done that :p

Well I think just about anyone would agree that you should buy an aftermarket one, if nothing more than just for the sake of your processor running cooler, and therefore lasting longer, but I don't think that's why you're getting higher temps here. I believe it's probably just that the heatsink wasn't re-installed correctly. The other thing it could be, maybe there's too much thermal paste on it, which can cause just as many problems as not having enough. There's a thread on the forum somewhere about that

Ensure you follow the thermal paste manufacturers instructions for applying it. Also note there is a slight breakin period for the new thermal paste but you surly shouldn't see temps like that. The stock cooler should not be to blame as usually, keyword usually, CPU manufacturers design the stock heat sink to handle the CPU as long as it's not OC'd and you have proper airflow in the case. I would check to ensure you installed the heat sink correctly, that your fan is indeed running and at appropriate speeds for the temp, and that you applied the thermal paste as per the instructions.
