Hello, everyone!
I have a nasty problem with my laptop and I don't have a clue what it is. Help me find and resolve it, please!
Here is some info on the issue:
I keep reinstalling my Windows 7 64-bit once every month or so, because the OS becomes almost unusable. It usually starts with some applications freezing. Then it "spreads" all over the system with only few programs working fine. I don't have access to most of the files on my HDDs (even on the external one), because Windows Explorer crashes and restarts when I open some of the folders. This usually happens within a month of a fresh Windows reinstall. Then, after two-three more weeks, the OS becomes so slow that I can't work on it anymore and I reinstall it again.
Here is the laptop info:
Lenovo Ideapad Y580
- Processor - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz
- Memory (RAM) - 8,00 GB
- Primary Hard disk - SSD 32 GB
- Secondary Hard disk - HDD 750 GB
- GPU - Integrated: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000; Dedicated: nVidia Geforce GTX 660M
My thoughts on the problem:
As you can see, my SSD which holds the OS is way too small. This is why I always move my Users directory to the HDD to save space. I also change the registries accordingly. So, maybe this has something to do with my woes. I don't know for sure though. Should I invest in a new, bigger SSD? Or maybe the problem is completely different.
Please, help me with this, guys! I don't know what to do. I am tired of all these reinstalls.
