Will my Q6600 Bottleneck a Radeon 7790?

Just wanted to know, if I OC my Q6600 to 3.2GHz and say it remains about 50c while gaming, would it bottleneck an Asus 7790 1GB GDDR5 with games such as:

Far Cry 3
Battlefield 3
State of Decay

I understand that games differ and some are more GPU / CPU dependent that others but a rough answer would be nice.

The Q6600 will not bottleneck the 7790HD. However, don't expect to play high or ultra settings. The 7790HD is close to an entry level GPU. It will most likely play BF3 and Far Cry 3 at a mix between of medium/low settings. The Q6600 is a little dated but capable. I used to have a Q9550 and a 460 GTX. I was only able to play BF3 multiplayer on medium settings to sustain 50-60 frames.

No. The Q6600 and even core 2 duos are still decent procs for gaming because everything is so GPU dependent. Unless you are going to a crossfire configuration you won't be bottle-necked by that proc.

Install a cpu/gpu monitor then play the game. If your cpu is struggling to get below 100% useage - at game gfx settings you enjoy - then you'll know that a cpu/mboard change could be considered (something none of us want to do too frequently).
However, as the others said, the Q6600 is a quick beast and may well have the headroom.

Use Google a bit more on e.g. q6600 + gaming + 2013/2012/2011.

Thanks, The 7790 is slightly better than the 460 so I am considering that or the 7850, only have a 720p monitor so should get slightly better frames hopefully.
