I somehow configured my windows 7 to open all my downloads with gimp!

Thanks for your response and yes I have resolved it what happened and I'm sure alot of people have gone through this is the jump from XP to 7 sorty of leaves "duh" and although its in other brain boxes in my house, I never wanted to deal with the so call innovations that have come out non the less thanks to all
