How to START a youtube upload at a certain time?

Hi all,

I have an extremely slow internet upload speed, at 0.5 mbps according to speedtest.net, meaning that an upload to youtube takes around 4 hours on a 10 minute 1080p video. I looked into restricting the amount of upload bandwidth using third party software but I have heard from several different people that they got BSODs on their PCs on startup because of these applications. I don't really want to take this risk bearing in mind i have a powerful gaming PC that I use for everything and couldn't afford to break it.

Basically, I am asking if there is a way to start a youtube upload at around 12 when everyone in my household is in bed so that I will not be affecting anyone's bandwidth. I am not awake at 12, so I cant just upload it later, in case anyone tries to be annoying. I am not asking how to publish a video at a different time (just clearing this up), but how to upload a video at a different time.

I wasnt too sure section to put this in, so I put it in networking. I hope this is right!

Since you are trying to control UPLOAD bandwidth you are one of the few people that can use the QoS options in the router to solve your issue.

The simple routers have silly high, med, low stuff. This only partially works but if you can put all traffic destined to the youtube IP or find another way to identify the traffic and put this in LOW. You can then put all other traffic in high and the router should favor other traffic. It will in effect make your upload even slower but you could run it all the time if it does not intefere,

Better routers allow you so set fixed amounts of bandwidth. You could for example limit the utube upload to .1m which should leave lots for all the other users.

Finding a optimum setting will likely take some trial and error
