Lost almost all the space on my SD Card.

So I was trying to use my SD Card to flash a nook color into Cyanogenmod, but it didn't work out so well. I wanted to put the SD Card back into my phone, but it seems that when I mounted the .iso file to the SD Card with win32diskimager, it won't recognize most of the space on the card (I only have 39 MB to use now.) I've tried formatting this 8GB Sandisk MicroSD Card a couple times to no avail. Anyone have any fixes?

What type of reformat did you do? Man, I'm not sure what could be causing that issue. Maybe the SD card got corrupted somewhere along the line? I would say try reformatting in NTFS, and to not do a quick format, but you probably already did that.

Hi

effectively you have partitioned the SD Card to a size much less than the actual capacity
(iso file size against SD card capacity)

you need appropriate software to change this.

Is there any data you need to recover before you do this ?

I have used
Gparted live linux CD
http://gparted.org/

other people can recomend other Windows programs capable of preparing SD cards & USB drives

Re sizing the partition with gparted would not require Formating but it would be a good idea especially if you want to change the format (FAT 16, FAT 32, NTFS or what ever the phone uses)

I did this with a Raspberry Pi SD card
(putting image on SD Card with win32diskimager)
though current Raspberry Pi distributions can expand their partition to fill the SD Card during initial setup)

Turns out that maybe Windows format isn't enough. I put the card in my phone and lo and behold found a "Format" button. BAM, problem solved. Thanks anyway.
